ACCESSIBILITY
Think Again follows the principles of Universal Design for Learning to make meetings and training sessions accessible to a wide range of participants. If anyone in your group has particular access needs we should plan for — such as (but not limited to!) large print materials, mobility accommodations, limited English literacy, or sensory processing needs — please let us know in advance so we can design an inclusive experience for everyone.

To do truly interactive online trainings, each participant should have their own device with access to high-speed internet, a camera, and a microphone. By default we provide computer-generated captions for online sessions. Professional, human-generated live captions are more accurate and are important for people who are relying solely on captions. If any participant needs human-made captions, ASL interpretation, etc., we will work with you to find the most appropriate and cost-effective way to provide that.

Training and meeting hosts are responsible for securing space that meets the access needs of facilitators and participants, including but not limited to ramp access, chairs that fit a variety of bodies, adequate ventilation, and room for physical distancing if needed. Additionally, we always ask conveners to request that training and meeting participants refrain from wearing fragrances on the day of our in-person session (perfume, cologne, scented lotion, etc.), and to remove any fragrances from the meeting space (potpourri, air fresheners, etc.) in advance. This is related to a specific health impact affecting several of our trainers, and is a necessary accommodation in order for us to do our best work and avoid becoming ill. Further, detailed information about fragrance-free accessibility practices is below:

As part of our commitment to universal access, all Think Again events are fragrance-free. Event organizers need to communicate with participants in advance to make sure they will come to the event without fragrance. Below is sample language that you can copy for this purpose. Different events may require different work around the fragrance-free policy and other access needs – we will gladly work with you to problem-solve and figure out what will work best for your event.
In addition to communicating with participants, event hosts should:• make sure fragrance-free hand soap is available for participants to use in the restrooms during and before the event
• remove obvious sources of fragrance such as “air fresheners,” potpourri, incense, and scented candles
• request that scented cleaning products not be used in the event space for several days before the event (especially for longer sessions, and especially products used on soft surfaces like carpets) -
For the health and safety of facilitators and participants, it’s important that everyone come to this workshop fragrance-free. For information on how and why to be fragrance-free, see www.thinkagaintraining.com/fragrance-free. (Don’t wait until the last minute! You may need to plan ahead to be fragrance-free). If you have questions, or if you are not sure you can be fragrance-free, please contact ________ [insert contact person’s information here!]
For open-to-the-public events where RSVPs are not required, please include this (or similar) in all outreach materials.
For closed workshops, trainings or meetings whose participants you can contact in advance, please share it at least one week before the event.
