CONSULTING

Think Again’s consulting services help organizations put their values to work. We partner with teams to build systems that are fair, effective, and aligned with their purpose. From decision-making to HR to everyday program work, we help identify the practices that enable everyone to collaborate and thrive.

Some of our projects focus specifically on equity and inclusion. Others address organizational development more broadly, helping organizations strengthen their structures in areas like board development, team management, and community engagement.

Consulting is especially valuable when you know change is needed but aren’t sure how to move forward — for example, when your organization is growing, facing new challenges, or realigning priorities.

Each engagement is tailored to your needs and can include strategic planning, organizational development, change management, leadership development & coaching, training, assessment, and more. Learn more about our approach below.

    Strategic Planning

We facilitate strategic planning using a process inspired by community-centered design that engages all stakeholders and centers the voices of the people most impacted by decisions.

Strategic planning begins with gathering data and input. Through facilitated processes, you will fine-tune your vision, identify your priorities, and generate an actionable Strategic Plan.

Along the way, we build your organization's capacity to evaluate progress, adapt to changing circumstances, and remain accountable to the communities you serve. In addition to organization-wide strategic planning, we can facilitate planning processes for departments, programs, and initiatives.

    Organizational Development

Organizational development helps ensure your structures, policies, and practices support both your mission and your values.

We partner with organizations to assess current systems, identify opportunities for improvement, and implement changes that increase effectiveness, sustainability, and alignment. This work may include policy development, role clarification, decision-making structures, hiring processes, performance evaluation systems, or approaches for addressing problematic behavior.

We also help organizations design and strengthen programs so they are practical, sustainable, and integrated into broader organizational priorities and systems.

    Change Management

When something changes - as something always does - we're there to support you through it.

We help organizations navigate changes both planned and unplanned, internal and external, including leadership transitions, shifting community needs, organizational restructuring, and changes in the funding or political landscape.

Together, we identify challenges, engage stakeholders, and develop practical strategies for moving forward. We help leaders communicate clearly, navigate uncertainty, and build trust throughout the change process.

From interim executive services to staff reorganization to new programming directions, we can help your team thrive in the midst of change.

    Leadership Development & Coaching

New and experienced leaders at all levels can benefit from 1:1 and small-group coaching to build strong and flexible leadership skills.

Coaching supports transformation, helping individuals or groups to deepen their understanding and integrate new frameworks into their patterns of thought and action.

Through an adaptive sequence of in-depth conversations, reflection, and practical exercises, we support your key team members to become more insightful, accountable, and compassionate leaders.

    Assessment

Not sure what you need? Whether you're exploring a specific challenge or considering a larger organizational development effort, we can help your organization identify specific strengths, areas for improvement, and opportunities for positive transformation.

We collaborate with you to design and execute surveys, interviews, focus groups, and data reviews to thoroughly understand your starting point.

The resulting assessment report includes concrete recommendations that can serve as a roadmap for immediate and ongoing improvement.

Client Testimonials

  • “Your work has made a really profound impact. Just one example: our redesigned hiring process resulted in a recent opening getting the largest and most diverse candidate pool we’ve ever seen. Many candidates said the language used and the transparency of our process is what made them want to apply. This is a big breakthrough for our organization showing up as authentic in our commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.”

Anore Horton, Executive Director, Hunger Free VT

  • “This experience created new neural pathways for me.”

  • “I’m grateful for how hard this (strategic planning session) was for me. I’m grateful to have been pushed to explore what I can do when I have to think on my feet.”

  • “The implementation [of the compensation equity process] went smoothly and well. I am especially grateful for the progress we made – both in recognition and compensation – for our paralegal advocates. I’m really happy with where we are, and I think it is showing up in our morale and retention.”

Sarah Mattson Dustin, Executive Director, New Hampshire Legal Assistance

  • “This isn’t my first time in a space like this (a strategic planning process where I’m the only Black person in a majority-white org), but it’s my first time having it be a positive experience, feeling like a valuable participant and not just being mined for my experience.”

  • "I appreciated the live troubleshooting of our intake process to make it more respectful of the trans community."
