Strategic Planning Cohort

Strategic planning is a powerful tool for driving organizational success and sustainability, but it can be challenging to prioritize the time and resources needed to do it well - especially for small organizations. This 10-session series offers a practical roadmap grounded in Think Again’s equity-centered strategic planning approach, while helping you adapt the process for your organization’s unique context and needs.

With expert guidance from our consultants and a collaborative learning community, you'll develop an impactful strategic planning process tailored to your organization - and leave ready to put it into action.

The Strategic Planning Cohort might be for you if:

You’re a leader of an organization that needs to do strategic planning, and you want to understand the process before committing funds to outside consultants

You’ve seen strategic planning go poorly and you want to make sure yours goes well

You know strategic planning is necessary, but your organization doesn’t have the budget for a consultant

You know strategic planning is valuable, but there are always more urgent priorities on everyone’s plate

You’re one of several key decision-makers and want tools to convince your colleagues that an equity-centered approach is the way to go

You want to gain the skill to plan thoughtfully for the long term, within your organization and beyond

Through the cohort program, 2–3 participants from your organization will take part in five training sessions and five working meetings with individualized support from our consultants. Participants will also receive copies of the
Equity-Focused Strategic Planning Workbook, complete with activity worksheets to guide their work between sessions.

By the end of the experience, participants will:

  • Understand the purpose and methods of each phase of the strategic planning process

  • Identify which elements of the strategic planning process are most important for their organization

  • Identify which elements of the process their organization can accomplish using internal personnel and which may require external support

The inaugural Strategic Planning Cohort was an exceptional experience. Every session was highly engaging, with clear, intentional activities that kept participants engaged and looking forward. The workbook is well-researched, inclusive, and full of practical wisdom. Chelsey and Davey bring a very human and dynamic approach to strategic planning, not simply as a document or end goal, but as a collaborative, multi-systems process grounded in equity and centered on the voices of those most impacted. Their questions consistently energize, support, and help integrate the learning for nonprofit leaders balancing already full workloads and very busy brains.

I am deeply grateful for the space they created!
